MISSION
Creating meaningful connections between Western Muslims by contributing positively to the social and spiritual well-being of our community. We accomplish this by:
Encouraging a diversity of perspectives on the Western Muslim experience
Providing a platform for creative collaboration
Giving back to the less fortunate and the community at large
The Western Muslim Initiative (WMI) is a Calgary based registered not-for-profit that provides a forum that explores, expresses, and contributes positively towards Western Muslim culture and encourages a diversity of perspectives on Muslims and Islam.
Let us begin by saying that we are very proud of the work that we do. All of the events and programs are things that we feel proud to be associated with and also comfortable bringing other people to.
WMI is one of the few Muslim organizations in Calgary with official not-for-profit charitable status (866334907RR0001) from the Federal Government of Canada.
WMI is a true grassroots effort that has been built on the generosity of Calgarians and community members from other cities across Canada and the United States, who are serious about making welcoming communities.
